Bookings

  • A deposit of 30 % of the quoted rate is required to secure resort/boat bookings
  • Your booking is held for 10 days, if a deposit is not received within 10 days, the system will automatically cancel your booking
  • Any payment or partial payment constitutes the acceptance of Mahi-Mahi Surf Resort’s Terms and Conditions
  • All deposits and payments are non-refundable
  • Changes can be made for dates or accommodation type 60 days before your arrival, but depends on availability. Changes made to the next calendar year may incur an increase in room rates, which is the responsibility of the guest

Payments

  • The full balance of your booking must be paid 60 days before your arrival, or your booking will be canceled
  • In the event of booking within 60 days of the arrival date, the booking must be paid in full to secure a reservation
  • Payments must be made into our bank account stated on the invoice
  • If you wish to pay by WISE transfer, please ask us for our other account details.
  • ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL YOUR REMITTANCE, BANK TRANSACTIONS FEES, AND EXCHANGE RATE FEES
  • Failing to pay the above fees will result in adding the balance to your outstanding booking balance. However, we also hold the right to cancel a booking that has not covered the above fees
  • Please provide your invoice number and name when making a payment into our account
  • Confirmation of bookings and deposits into our account will be sent via email – this may take up to 5 business days
  • All money must be paid in USD

Travel insurance is compulsory

  • Travel insurance is compulsory. We recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance
    that includes any costs incurred due to delays, flight cancellations, missed connections, and
    natural disasters.
  • Travel insurance must include the Medical Evacuation option and compensation for lost trip
    days and nights due to unforeseen circumstances.

No refunds

  • There are no refunds of any kind given for poor surf, inclement weather, airline-related delays or cancellations, and late departures from your designated trip or itinerary

Cancellations

  • We take no responsibility for cancellations due to any external disturbances or changes to your personal circumstances such as: political, environmental, illness, family/work issues or any other unexpected situation which may occur that is beyond our control.

Flights

  • We can help you in booking your flights from Medan – Simeulue – Medan.
  • We are not responsible for flight cancellations, delays, and any incurred cost to you.
  • WingsAir flights between Simeulue and Medan are o[en delayed 1–2 hours; please ensure you have enough connecting time out of Medan. Our recommendation is no earlier than 7 pm to catch the next flights.
  • Surfboards cannot be prepaid for. Paying for boards can only be done by you at the Medan/Simeulue airport check-in counter.
  • Surfboard/check-in luggage cannot be prepaid for. Paying for boards can only be done at the Medan/Simeulue airport check-in counter with cash only.
  • We do not take responsibility for any damage/delays/loss of surfboards or luggage
  • We do not take responsibility for airline policies and sudden changes to those policies

Payments once at the resort

  • All rates at the resort are in IDR
  • We accept IDR CASH
  • We accept credit/debit cards, a 3% service fee for foreign cards will be added on top of the invoice, and a 1.8% for local cards
  • There are no “pay later” options
  • We use the day’s exchange rate +/- 5%

Your arrival

  • Upon arrival, we will ask you to sign an indemnity form that releases Mahi-Mahi Surf Resort from responsibility for any injuries, illness, damages, loss, accidents, or other personal expenses that you may incur during your stay. We are located in a region where, among other things, the standard of safety, hygiene, cleanliness, medical facilities, telecommunications, and infrastructure may not be of the standard that you are used to, or would find on a more conventional holiday.
  • By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are accepting these inherent risks.

Sharia Law & Culture

  • Simeulue is governed under Sharia Law; we would like you to join us in respecting the local culture and beliefs. With this, we ask everyone to dress modestly while outside the resort and be aware that alcohol is forbidden. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you are accepting these inherent risks.

Responsibility and Liability

  • Mahi-Mahi Surf Resort, its officers, employees, agents, and contractors are not responsible or liable for any injury, loss, accident, damage, delay, omission, irregularity, or non-performance occurring in connection with these arrangements. The client understands and accepts all risks associated with any and all activities, including land-based and water activities, air travel, car travel, swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, and boating. We will not tolerate unsafe, illegal, or irresponsible behavior.

Lost or Damaged Gear

  • In case of lost or damaged gear through incorrect, irresponsible, or inappropriate use by our customers, we will charge at cost price for damaged/lost items. Please note you are responsible for your personal belongings; Mahi-Mahi is not liable for any loss, damage, or theft.
  • Like many remote locations in Indonesia, Simeulue electricity supply can sometimes be unstable and may potentially damage electronics while charging. Mahi-Mahi Surf Resort is not liable for any damage caused by power fluctuations. We recommend bringing a surge protector or voltage regulator to safeguard your devices.

Ocean Conditions & Marine Life Encounters

  • Our trips and courses are based on interactions with wildlife in the ocean. No guarantees can be made that specified interactions will occur on any given day, nor what ocean or weather conditions will be like.
